about

I'm really proud and honoured to host on my own page - according to the suggestions of Ulrike Coxhill-Scholz - this unpublished recording of the concert the Lol Coxhill Quartet gave in Cremona (Italy) on March 9, 1991.

An original tribute to traditional jazz by a very special quartet.
75 minutes of music recorded by Giancarlo Tossani - a member of the staff of the Cremona Jazz Festival - with a cassette recorder. Unfortunately at the end of each side of the original cassette the recording suddenly stops cutting the music; moreover, a little mechanical noise can be heard here and then. This is the reason why I've done some very little corrections, just a little editing trying to solve the problem and to get a better sound and a better listening experience.

Thanks to Giancarlo Tossani for finding and sharing the music and to the members of the quartet for authorizing its publication. And a very very special THANK YOU to Ulrike Coxhill-Scholz for her invaluable support and encouragement.
